As I look out across Mount’s Bay, my breath is taken away by the now expansive views that the renovation has created. For the first four years of my tenure at the Godolphin Arms, I would try to secure as many customers as possible a glimpse of St Michael’s Mount and the Bay, but prior to the refurbishment, this was not always possible as the windows did not maximise the view that was beyond.
The view of St Michael’s Mount is now at the centrepiece of the new glass extension that frames Mount’s Bay. With the sun glittering on the water and the gentle lapping of the waves, this is one of the most magnificent locations in the world, and I feel privileged to work in it, and call it my home.
The Godolphin Arms has a front row seat to watch the beauty of the sea change through the seasons, from spring tranquillity to winter storm watching.
This is not only a special place to work, but also for you to come and visit. Whatever the weather, do come and visit us, and enjoy the elements while eating, drinking or relaxing and let us look after you.
